Hello there!
I got this site off of facebook. Looks great so far. I am always looking for a place to dialogue with like-minded brethren.
My name is Dave and I attend the Chilliwack Free Grace Reformed Baptist Church. Long name but the simple message of Salvation is of the Lord proclaimed from the pulpit!!
I've been saved for 12 years and spent 7 of those salvitory (is that a word?) years deeply involved in the Charismatic movement...shana-shotoo-soo-choo-rrrrhamba---yes I spoke in tongues both in my "prayer closet" and in various worship gatherings...actually, while driving, too, actually, I pretty much spoke in tongues all the time. I have been tounge free for seveal years, now, and actually trying to study one or two KNOWN languages!!
I was also a worship leader in Calvary Chapel (aka Chuck Smith's followers). The Lord brought me dramatically and suddenly out of the Arminian/Amyraldian world of Calvary Chapelthrough the use of hymns (of all things!) and through Richard Baxter as the second step. Spurgeon was the next gateway into all the giants of the faith! Sweet Spurgeon....ahhhhh!
Becoming a Calvinist out of Calvary Chapel is akin to leaving the faith so I lost everything and everybody for a whle. Then, by God's mercy, He brought out my best buddy a year later...and then a few more since! I have been blessed, though, through these last few years with meeting excellent friends and wise pastors that have steered me into the Old and good ways of the faith. My cup runneth over, in spite of my "proness" to wander!
I look forward to getting to know the folks here and participating in the conversations.
